It’s a great season for giving presents to those you care about, and so we at Lambda Island have decided to give away 15 copies of the “Be a Coder” Humble Bundle to people of underrepresented groups.
All you need to do is fill out this form before December 26, 2017, 08:00 UTC.
Humble Bundles started out as collections of Indy games available with “pay what you want” pricing. By buying them you support both the original game developers, as well as one of many different charities. This bundle contains ebooks instead of games, all from the great No Starch Press publishing house.
We’re giving away the $8 tier, which includes “Clojure for the Brave and True”, “Land of Lisp”, and “Realm of Racket”, as well as seven other great books about coding.
The charity we’re supporting is the EFF, the Electronic Frontier Foundation, which has been fighting for decades for things like free speech online, and Net Neutrality.
Lambda Island has always had a strong commitment to support groups that are underrepresented in the tech industry, including people of color, women, non-binary, and LGBTQ. I spoke at EuroClojure 2016 together with my friend Malwine about why that is so important. You can check out the video here.
